HÀ NỘI — Phú Khánh Solar Power JSC co-operated with provincial authorities of the central coastal province of Phú Yên to organise groundbreaking ceremonies for two solar power plants – Xuân Thọ 1 and Xuân Thọ 2 on Tuesday.
The Xuân Thọ 1 project has total investment capital of nearly VNĐ1.25 trillion (US$). The project will be implemented on an area of about 60 hectares in Xuân Thọ 1 Commune.
The Xuân Thọ 2 project, which has investment capital of nearly VNĐ1.24 trillion, will also be built on an area of about 60 hectares in Xuân Thọ 2 Commune.
Each factory has a total design capacity of more than 49.6MW and electricity production of about 76.2 million kWh per year.
The investor said they would strive to bring the two factories into commercial operation on June 30.
Trần Hữu Thế, vice chairman of Phú Yên provincial people’s committee, said the two projects would contribute greatly to the local budget and help generate jobs for local people.
The current average total sunshine hours in the province is 2,467 hours with the total amount of average solar radiation over 1,700kWh per square metre.
This is an advantage for the province to attract clean energy projects. The province has already licensed six solar power projects so far. — VNS
