E-wallet service provider Vimo Technology JSC and Hanoi Railway Transport JSC on April 23 signed a deal to launch online train ticket booking and payment services through e-wallet Vimo.
Passengers can book train tickets for all active domestic rail routes, choose a seat type, make payments and receive e-tickets through the online platform Vimo.
This online service is convenient for train travellers, as they can save time in not having to visit counters at train stations or authorised ticket agents or go through multiple steps on websites to book train tickets.
To use the online service, passengers just need to download the Vimo e-wallet app, available on iOS or Android app stores. Regarding online payments, they are required to have payment cards such as Visa, MasterCard, JCB or ATM cards at any of more than 20 banks linked to Vimo.
For the service launch, Vimo is offering a 50 percent refund (up to a maximum of VND200,000) for the first 1,000 passengers who book railway tickets online from April 23 to May 31 on Vimo. The money will be refunded within an hour of departure.
