THACO Expects To Sell 100,000 Autos This Year

At an event held last week to introduce THACO’s management and its business strategy from 2018, THACO said it would be able to sell 42,250 trucks, 5,062 buses, and 69,260 cars this year. In terms of car brands, the firm expects to sell 28,000 KIA, 35,000 Mazda, 5,010 Peugeot, 1,050 BMW, and 200 MINI Cooper units.

The auto assembler also plans to export its products, including auto parts worth at $6.4 million, 400 buses and 150 bus chassis with a combined value of $26 million. It will open 21 more showrooms and dealerships, taking to 171 the nationwide total.

This year, the firm will boost work on projects in Chu Lai, Quang Nam Province. Apart from facilities for manufacturing plastic parts and automobiles called THACO Mazda, it will build plants to assemble and make trucks and specialised vehicles.

The firm will be upgrading plants like THACO Kia Auto, THACO Premium Auto, and an auto machine plant. The total investment is VND4.6 trillion.

This year THACO expects to make around VND83 trillion in consolidated revenue, and VND7 trillion in consolidated profit. Its tax payments are forecast at VND22.7 trillion.

Last year, THACO’s consolidated revenue, including from Dai Quang Minh, a real estate investment corporation, was some VND55.3 trillion, after-tax profit VND4.9 trillion.

The company’s total tax payments amounted to around VND15 trillion, with about VND12.4 trillion going to Quang Nam Province.
