The weekly bond report recently announced by Bao Viet Securities Company showed that in the past week, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) net injected 2.275 trillion dong via bill channel.
Specifically, the agency newly issued 46.450 trillion dong of seven-day bills at interest rate of three percent per annum, while 48.725 trillion dong matured in the week.
On Open Market Operation (OMO) channel, the SBV net withdrew 98 billion dong when the issued bills in the previous week matured and there was no OMO in circulation.
From the beginning of the year until now, the SBV net withdrew a total of 105.135 trillion dong via OMO and bill channels.
The SBV have flexibly made injections and withdrawals in recent weeks, depending on market liquidity.
Meanwhile, the interbank interest rates in the past week tended to remain stable.
For overnight term, the rate slightly increased by -.1 percent from 3.15 percent per annum to 3.25 percent per annum. For one-week and two-week terms, the rates slightly decreased by respectively 0.05 percent and 0.02 percent to 3.2 percent per annum and 3.23 percent per annum.
According to BVSC, the interbank interest rates are likely to be stable around three percent per annum as at the present time in the next few weeks because there are currently not many factors posing short-term liquidity risks to the banking system.
