The bond report of June 17-21, 2019, stated that in that week, SBV net withdrew 3.2 trillion via bills.
Specifically, SBV issued new 67.999 trillion dong of seven-day bill with an interest rate maintained at three percent, while there was 64.799 trillion dong of bill matured in the week. On the open market operation (OMO) channel, SBV issued a small amount of 21 billion dong after five weeks of any activity.
Up to now, there are circulating treasury bills of 67.999 trillion dong. The amount of OMO corresponding to this week’s issue is 21 billion dong. Accumulated from the beginning of 2019, SBV net withdrew a total of 124.486 trillion dong.
In the interbank market, interest rates last week were relatively stable at the majority of terms. The overnight, one week and two week terms fluctuated in the range of +/- one percent, respectively reaching 3.2 percent per year, 3.3 percent per year and 3.2 percent per year. BVSC believed that, with liquidity still in abundance, interbank interest rates were expected to remain at current levels in the coming weeks.
