Saigon Times Group will hold a forum themed “Banks 2018 towards sustainable development” to provide an insight into some of the underlying issues in the banking sector at the International Convention centre in Hanoi City next Tuesday.
More than 10 high-profile experts will discuss a range of topics in the banking system, from restructuring and the effectiveness of monetary policy in previous years to prospects for the second half of 2018 as well as challenges for banks to stay sustainable in the digital age.
Pham Thanh Ha, general director of the Monetary Policy Department at the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Pham Huyen Anh, deputy chief inspector of the SBV, and Le Manh Hung, head of the SBV’s Information Technology Department will offer the latest information about monetary policy, banking sector restructuring, and Internet payment management.
Other experts will give their feedback on banking policies. They include Nguyen Duc Kien, vice head of the National Assembly Economic Committee, Nguyen Xuan Thanh, development director at Fulbright University Vietnam, Dominic Scriven, chair of Dragon Capital, Can Van Luc, senior advisor of the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, and senior economist Phan Minh Ngoc.
Leaders of Vietnam Prosperity Bank (VPBank) and Orient Commercial Bank (OCB), as well as Dao Minh Tuan, chair of the Vietnam Bank Card Association, will also attend the forum.
The event is expected to provide useful information and in-depth analysis for investors and shareholders of commercial banks and other enterprises.
