Sacombank has donated VND10 billion (US$610,335) to the Covid-19 pandemic fight following the prime minister’s appeal to all citizens to contribute.

It had earlier donated VND200 million ($12,300) out of the VND5 billion ($307,504) the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association raised from its members to help the government produce 10,000 Covid-19 test kits.

Since February end Sacombank has been offering preferential credit from a VND10 trillion package to support individual and corporate customers carry on production and trading. The interest rates are up to 2 per cent lower than normal.

The bank has also begun to restructure debts and reduce interest rates for customers affected by the pandemic as instructed by the State Bank of Vietnam.
