The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,069 VND per USD on June 17, up 10 VND from the last working day of previous week (June 14).
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,761 VND per USD and the floor rate at 22,376 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks rose slightly.
At 8:15 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,265 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,385 VND/USD, both up 5 VND from the same time on June 14.
BIDV added 15 VND to both rates, listing the buying rate at 23,280 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,400 VND/USD.
Techcombank also raised both rates by 5 VND to 23,245 VND/USD (buying) and 23,385 VND/USD (selling).
During the week from June 10-14, the reference exchange rate was adjusted up on two days and down on three days. The rate ended the week up 5 VND.
The rates listed at commercial banks fluctuated during the week, but generally ended the week down from Monday.
