The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 22,998 VND/USD on April 19, up 10 VND from the day earlier.
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied by commercial banks for the day is 23,688 VND/USD and the floor rate is 22,308 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks generally remain stable.
As of 8:15 am, BIDV listed the buying rate at 23,150 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,250 VND/USD. The rates have been maintained for many days.
Techcombank also maintained the same rates as on April 18, at 23,130 VND per USD (buying) and 23,250 VND/USD (selling).
The rates at Vietcombank went up by 5 VND to 23,155 VND/USD (buying) and 23,255 VND/USD (selling).
During the week from April 16 to April 19 (April 15 was a holiday), the daily reference exchange rate was adjusted down on two days and up on two days. Overall, the rate gained 8 VND during the week.
The rates at commercial banks stayed stable throughout the week.
