The State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange rate down on March 29 to 22,980 VND per USD, a drop of 2 VND from the previous day (March 28).
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,669 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,290 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks saw slight fluctuations.
Both Vietcombank and BIDV raised their rates by 5 VND, listing the buying rate at 23,150 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,250 VND/USD.
At Techcombank, the buying rate was revised down 15 VND to 23,130 VND/USD and the selling rate down 5 VND to 23,250 VND/USD.
During the week from March 25 to 29, the daily reference exchange rate was adjusted up for three days and down on two days. At the end of the week, the rate gained a total of 16 VND.
The rates at commercial banks fluctuated variably throughout the week, but ending the week mostly unchanged from the week’s beginning.
