The daily reference exchange rate started the week from April 1 to 5 down 4 VND from the end of last week to 22,976 VND per USD.
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,665 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,287 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks stayed stable.
Both Vietcombank and BIDV listed the buying rate at 23,150 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,250 VND/USD, the same rates as on the last working day of previous week (March 29).
Techcombank also maintained the same rates as on March 29, at 23,130 VND per USD (buying) and 23,250 VND/USD (selling).
During the week from March 25 to 29, the daily reference exchange rate was adjusted up for three days and down on two days. At the end of the week, the rate gained a total of 16 VND.
The rates at commercial banks fluctuated variably throughout the week, but ending the week mostly unchanged from the week’s beginning.
