The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,234 VND per USD on April 6, down 5 VND from the last working day of previous week (April 3).
With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,931 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,536 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks stayed stable.
At 8:25 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,320 VND/USD, and the selling rate at 23,530 VND/USD, both unchanged from April 3.
BIDV also kept both rates unchanged at 23,380 VND/USD (buying) and 23,560 VND/USD (selling).
Similarly, Techcombank kept both rates unchanged from April 3 at 23,370 VND/USD (buying), and 23,570 VND/USD (selling).
During the week from March 30 to April 3, the daily reference exchange rate opened the week down, but turned around to go up on the next day. It then was adjusted down on Wednesday, and after the national holiday on Thursday (April 2) the rate was up again. It ended the week up 9 VND.
Meanwhile, the rates at commercial banks ended the week down by 50-80 VND./.
