Prudential Vietnam Launches Digital App For Health Management

Prudential Vietnam Assurance Private Ltd (Prudential Vietnam) today announced the launch of Pulse by Prudential, an all-in-one digital app and the first-of-its-kind in Asia and Vietnam to offer holistic health management to consumers.

Using Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered self-help tools and real-time information, Pulse serves as a 24/7 smart health assistant to users, empowering them to take control of their personal health and wellbeing anytime, anywhere.

Pulse is part of Prudential’s region-wide strategy to provide affordable and accessible healthcare to everyone across the region, by leveraging cutting-edge digital technologies and best-in-class partnerships.

“In Vietnam, we are seeing rising healthcare demand as well as how digital tools can lead to better, faster and more accessible healthcare for people. As a leading life insurer in the country, Prudential Vietnam is going beyond its pure protection offering to playing a larger role in helping people prevent and postpone adverse health events,” said To Thuy Trang, chief of customer experience and marketing of Prudential Vietnam.

The launch of Pulse is in line with the company’s efforts to drive a steep change in how people can proactively manage their health and wellbeing. “Pulse is yet another milestone in Prudential Vietnam’s long-term commitment to promote simplicity and convenience for customer and is aligned with our We DO spirit,” she said.

“While non-communicable diseases continue to pose a threat to social and economic development in the 21st century, the world is now also facing a crisis as it battles the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As people around the world, and in Vietnam, tackle this health challenge, there is a greater need for instant, reliable and relevant health information. With Pulse, users can manage their health from their own phones, anytime and anywhere, with the help of an AI-powered symptom checker, online consultations and health assessment,” Trang said.

In the launch phase in Vietnam, Pulse offers users two key features Symptom Checker and Healthcheck powered by Babylon. In addition, Body Mass Index (BMI), Wrinkle Index, and Hospital & Clinic Finder are other value-added features that provide interesting and helpful information for Vietnamese users. Other features including Online Consultation by MyDoc, Personalised Wellness Services and My Policy for Prudential’s customers will be offered later in the year.

Through Pulse, Prudential Vietnam customers will also be able to manage their policy with ease and convenience. Not only will they be able to view a summary of their coverage and policy services, they can also make changes to their correspondence details and soon pay their premiums through the app as well.

Pulse was launched regionally and in Malaysia in August 2019 and is being rolled out across 11 markets in Asia. The app is currently live in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Thailand and has exceeded more than three million downloads as at end-April 2020. Pulse is an evolving platform with new partners, tools and value-added services added in phases to provide more innovative, value-added services and meet the growing healthcare needs in the region.

Pulse can be downloaded for free from Apple and Google Play stores.
