Ocean Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB) has announced that Ben Thanh Corporation is no longer a major shareholder of the bank.
Specifically, after OCB conducted a private placement, the number of shares owned by Ben Thanh Corporation is kept unchanged at 43.5 million shares, equivalent to a rate of 4.96%, less than the 5.51 percent in the previous time. The change of ownership rate is June 24th 2020.
Previously, on June 23rd, OCB successfully issued 86.68 million shares (accounting for 100 percent of the registered shares) to Aozora Bank from Japan. Accordingly, the bank’s charter capital increases by 867 billion dong to over 8.7 trillion dong. Aozora became OCB’s major shareholder.
In addition to the plan to sell shares to Aozora bank, OCB also said that it is offering 31.6 million shares to other partners to increase charter capital. OCB will also increase charter capital by distributing dividends in shares from the profits retained in 2019 with a value of over 2.191 trillion dong. The share dividend payment rate is 25%.
