Many Banks Violate Taxes And Have To Pay Additionally Billions Of Dong

According to Commercial Joint Stock Bank for Industry and Trade of Vietnam (VietinBank, HoSE code: CTG), it has received the Decision of the general Department of Taxation on handling tax violations according to the Decision on January 22nd. The total amount that VietinBank has to additionally pay for 2017 is 2.34 billion dong.

In January, Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB) also received the decision on tax violation handling according to the inspection results in the period of 2016 2017 with a total arrears of 11.1 billion dong, including tax arrears of 7.6 billion dong. In particular, the tax arrears are nearly 3.9 billion dong for corporate income tax, over two billion dong of value-added-tax (VAT) and foreign contractor income, nearly 1.4 billion dong of personal income tax, and an addition of nearly 300 billion dong of VAT. In addition, ACB has to pays nearly 2.1 billion dong in fine and 1.27 billion dong for tax payment delay.

At the end of 2018, some banks also received a decision of tax collection. The general Department of Taxation recovers the additional tax amount worth nearly 1.8 billion dong from Commercial Joint Stock Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), including 1.36 billion dong of VAT collected through inspection, 273 million dong of fine for wrong VAT declaration, and 151 million dong of late VAT payment.

Commercial Joint Stock Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) also has to pay an addition of 2.14 billion dong.
