Manulife Vietnam Announces New Mission

“Decisions made easier. Lives made better” considered the global insurer’s North Star.

Manulife Vietnam has marked its 20th anniversary in Vietnam by implementing its new mission of helping people have a better life.

It is committed to fulfilling this new mission by providing customers with the right solutions and customer-based advisory services, helping them make easier decisions for a better life.

“We believe that we need to build on our success today by continuously evolving and putting customers at the centre of our business,” said Kim Fleming, CEO of Manulife Vietnam. “That’s the only path to success, because customers are the ones in charge. Our new mission’Decisions made easier. Lives made better’is our North Star. It guides everything we do and helps us focus on serving customers better, delivering on our ambition to be the most digital, customer-centric global company in our industry.”

Manulife Vietnam has been investing significantly over the past two years in building platforms to prepare for its new mission, starting with understanding customer needs. It pioneered the application of the NPS system and established a customer experience team who listen to customer feedback and address their plan points. The company is also simplifying its processes and procedures and developing digital tools to deliver simplicity and convenience to customers.

Manulife Vietnam is investing in training to upskill and professionalise its staff and distribution force. It has more than 30,000 professional agents, nearly 1,000 of whom are MDRT membersthe largest of any company in Vietnam. The company is developing digital tools to connect its agency force with its entire ecosystem to provide customers with fast and professional services in the digital age.

Manulife Vietnam is also a leading company in terms of bancassurance, through successful cooperation with leading banks in Vietnam.

It was the first wholly foreign-owned life insurance company in Vietnam, established in 1999, and owns its headquarters, with investment of over $10 million. With in-depth experience and a global reputation, Manulife is currently the largest life insurance company in Vietnam in terms of charter capital (as at March 30).

The company offers a wide range of products from traditional insurance to health insurance, education, investment cooperation, and pension products to customers, with over 950,000 policies through a multitude of agents and 72 offices in 43 cities and provinces nationwide (as at December 31, 2018).
