The price of SJC gold on the morning of July 27 reached a new record high, exceeding VND56 million per tael for the first time in domestic transaction history.
The day’s opening transaction session saw the Saigon Gold, Silver and Gemstone joint stock company quote its SJC gold price at VND56.02 million per tael for selling and VND54.5 million per tael for buying.
These latest prices represent rises of VND1 million for both buying and selling, respectively, in comparison from the previous transaction session on Saturday last week.
Elsewhere, the DOJI Gold and Gems Group listed prices between VND54.5 million and VND55.5 million per tael, marking an increase of VND1 million in comparison to transactions on July 25.
Moreover, Bao Tin Minh Chau, one of the nation’s leading gemstone brands, at 10:56am moved to record its gold prices at between VND55.25 million and VND56.65 million per tael, representing rises of VND1.2 million per tael in terms of both the buying and selling prices from the previous trading session on July 25.
This comes after the price of the precious metal has rapidly increased in the global market in recent times.
Furthermore, the world’s gold prices at 6am on July 27 were hovering around $1,917.7 per ounce, marking a rise of $16 per ounce from the previous transaction.
In terms of the forex market, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, also known as Vietcombank, moved to list the exchange rate at VND23,060 per $1 for buying and VND23,090 per $1 for selling on July 27, representing drops of between VND10 and VND20 per $1 from last week.
