Generali Vietnam Ramps Up Community Programme

Generali Group, one of the largest global insurance and asset management providers, has deepened its foothold in Vietnam by upscaling support to local disadvantaged community.

Generali Vietnam part of Italian-based generali Group and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) recently organised a “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” (Born Children, Born Parents) workshop for more than 300 parents, kindergarten staff, and children from Hoa Mi and Hoa Huong Duong kindergartens in Huong Thuy town in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

A sitcom series created as part of the programme and launched on generali Vietnam’s official YouTube channel last month has already garnered millions of views, interactions, and comments.

Shortly after the programme launch in June, generali Vietnam and the NFVC quickly implemented the parenting education programme by organising local workshops in selected provinces, including Thua Thien-Hue and the northern province of Bac Giang.

The workshop in Thua Thien-Hue facilitated discussions about topics such as developing children’s positive emotional intelligence through regular encouragement and motivation; handling children’s tantrum behaviours; and ensuring a safe home for children. These topics fall under the programme’s three main content groups of intelligence, behaviours, and health of children from newborn to six years of age.

At the event, generali Vietnam offered 150 gifts to all participating children and 150 programme booklets to their parents, as well as 30 special gifts in cash and in-kind to 30 needy families from local communities.

“We are glad that the workshop has geared up to reach out to more parts of the country,” said Tina Nguyen, generali Vietnam CEO. “The workshops aim to create positive and sustainable impacts on local children’s comprehensive development, and the programme enables generali to continue realising its strategy of becoming a lifetime partner to Vietnamese families.”

According to Le Tuyet Mai, deputy director of the NFVC, this community education programme is both unique and innovative, which is spreading positivity and creating impacts far and wide in society.

“We are glad to have been partnering with generali Vietnam, which has been very active and dedicated to community activities, especially those targeted at disadvantaged children across the country,” Mai said.

From now until the end of the year, at least 2,000 parents and children, and about 400 kindergarten teachers and officers from cities and provinces across Vietnam, are expected to benefit from the local workshops.

The programme’s booklets and online sitcoms will be available free of charge while parents will enjoy free admission to all parenting workshops.

The programme is part of The Human Safety Net, a generali Group global movement initiated in 2017. The Human Safety Net’s families programme supports parents in the first six years of their children’s lives to lay the strongest possible foundations for their future, contributing to early childhood development in disadvantaged communities around the world.

In Vietnam, the local programme developed by the NFVC and generali Vietnam, referencing Unicef materials is extending its reach to the community with practical and useful content via creative and interesting formats. In Vietnam, after nine years of operation, generali Vietnam currently has a nationwide network of over 60 agency offices and customer service centres, serving over 300,000 clients.
