The first-of-its-kind International Bakery Equipment Show is slated to take place at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in HCM City’s District 7 this October.
The event, to be jointly held by Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade in tandem with the Taipei Bakery Association (TBA), Chan Chao International, Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company (Vinexad), and Yorkers Exhibition Service Vietnam, is expected to attract 70 domestic and international businesses to showcase their products in 130 booths.
Many well-known and prestigious local and international pastry brands have registered to partake in the event, such as ABC, Unifood, Japanese oven-maker Rheon; baking machine-maker Sanko (Japan); BakeMate (India), Namchow, Uni-President, and Chung Pu (Taiwan).
On display will be a dazzling array of baking machines, packaging, associated materials, and a wide assortment of pastry. In addition, part of the exhibition space has been earmarked to present associated information and skills related to the pastry baking industry where Vietnamese and international experts will showcase how delicious pastry is made.
The event seeks to create a forum to discuss issues about the pastry making industry such as food hygiene and safety and contemporary trends about pastry making management from materials to baking skills.
Significantly, the event’s final day will be a special day for families to teach Vietnamese families how to make delicious pastry, bringing the visitors fresh experiences with new high-quality pastry products.
With the bright growth prospects of the Vietnamese and Asian pastry markets, the first-ever event is expected to propel the baking industry into higher gear.
The Vietnamese confectionary market has been on a stable growth trajectory. Studies show that the local bread and pastry market will reach $630 million this year and grow at an average 8.6 per cent annually in 2019-2023.
In the past nearly two decades, the Taipei Bakery Association (TBA), which represents the Taiwanese bakery industry, has brought diverse international bakery shows to the region, drawing in more than 170,000 visitors from around the world.
TBA has supported many Taipei pastry makers to participate and gain accolades in many international pastry baking competitions.
This year, famous chef Johnny (Yung-Hsin) Chen who championed at the Mondial du Pain 2019 competition will share his experiences and showcase his excellent skills at the upcoming first-ever international bakery equipment show in HCM City.
