Consumer finance company Easy Credit has announced it will provide loan online through the app Zalo.
It said instead of accessing its website or making phone calls, customers can get all necessary information on Zalo, saving time.
Prospective customers need to fill in information like ID number, phone number, date of birth, and loan amount, and the system will provide them with the required information. Then Easy Credit staff will call them to offer advice.
The interest rates on the loans range from 16 per cent to 48.5 per cent.
Zalo is a messaging and calling app with over 45 million users, and has become one of the most popular in Vietnam.
A study by VinaResearch found that Vietnamese on average spend over two hours a day on Zalo.
Easy Credit said: “We desire that our customers, especially those living in rural areas, are able to access our services in the easiest possible manner. That’s why our company is cooperating with partners to take our services to more places around the country and contribute to the national effort to prevent usury.”
The consumer finance company is an arm of EVN Finance, a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity.
It was incorporated in October 2018.
