MB Securities Company (MBS) has just updated the corporate bond market in the first seven months of the year. The banking sector led the way in terms of bond issuance with eight units in the list of ten leading names.
Vietnam Prosperity Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) led the market with bond issuance value of 12.86 trillion dong. In July, the bank successfully issued $300 million, equivalent to seven trillion dong of international bonds in Singapore, with a three-year term, fixed interest rate of 6.25 percent per year, interest payment of six month period, using US dollar as the issuance and payment currency.
Some other banks such as Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank) also announced plans to issue $200 million of international bonds to raise Tier II capital in 2019 and Saigon Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) announced to collect shareholders’ opinions on capital raising plans through international bond offering plans. Ranked second on bond offering is Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB), valued at 7.85 trillion dong for three-year term and five trillion dong for three to five-year term.
Two businesses in the top ten are Refrigeration Electrical Engineering JSC (HoSE: REE), JSC Vinpearl.
In June and July, there were 44 bond issuers, including eight banks, 17 real estate enterprises, two securities companies, and 17 other companies.
