Some commercial banks have held their 2019 Annual general Meetings (AGMs), such as Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NamABank, March 23rd), Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIB, March 28th), Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, April 10th), Kien Long Commercial Joint Stock Bank (April 12th), Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank, April 13th), Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SCB, April 16th).
The remaining banks would hold their AGMs in the last week of April to get approval of shareholders for the plans in 2019 and in the next years.
Specifically, the AGM of Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (BacABank) took place on April 22nd in Nghe An.
On April 23rd, six banks held their AGMs, including HCM City Development Commercial Joint Stock Bank (HDBank), Commercial Joint Stock Bank for Industry and Trade of Vietnam (VietinBank), Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB), Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank), Saigon Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB), and Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBS).
On April 24th, Lien Viet Post Commercial Joint Stock Bank (LienVietPostBank) holds its AGM in HCM City. The bank’s AGM was postponed for nearly a month as it was scheduled in late March.
On April 25th, Vietnam Public Commercial Joint Stock Bank (PVcomBank) will hold its AGM in Quang Ninh, while the AGMs of An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ABBank) and Petrolimex Group Commercial Joint Stock Bank (PGBank) will respectively be held in HCM City and Hanoi.
On April 26th, seven banks hold AMGs, including National Citizen Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB), Commercial Joint Stock Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank), Commercial Joint Stock Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank), Vietnam Prosperity Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VPBank), and Viet A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VietABank).
The AGMs of Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBBank) and Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB) will take place on April 27th.
Overall, according to the announced documents, in this year’s AGM season, banks will focus on issues including charter capital raising, dividend distribution, and business targets for 2019. In addition, at some banks, listing shares on the stock exchanges and buying bad debts from Vietnam Asset Management Company (VAMC) are also discussed.
